94+/100 Punkte Vinous Dec 2013 Kante won't release his 2008 Chardonnay Selezione La Bora di Kante for a few years, but the wine is shaping up to be a jewel. Ash, smoke, graphite, peaches and apricots are some of the many notes that flesh out in the glass. I can't wait to see how the 2008 develops. Today it is shaping up to be another jewel.
Bleibt recht lange.
89+/100 Punkte Robert Parker, Feb 2019 The 2017 Auvernier Chasselas Vin Sur Lie is clear, ripe and intense on the elegant nose. The palate reveals stunningly vibrant yet delicate acidity that gives a rather lean, straight and mineral Chasselas character with grip and a youthful finish. 11.2% alcohol. Tasted in January 2019.
94/100 Punkte Robert Parker Okt 2016 A new special cuvée introduced in 2014, the 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée A Tempo Blanc is an even split of Clairette, Grenache Blanc and Roussanne, all from the Mont Pertuis lieu-dit, that was aged in a mix of very old barrels and stainless steel. There#s a scant 100 cases produced and it has terrific, saliva-inducing minerality as well as ample citrus blossom, white peach, mint and a sea breeze-like saltiness. Tight, focused, medium to full-bodied and with impressive density, it needs 6-12 months of bottle age, and I suspect will keep for over a decade.
94-95/100 Punkte Vinous Apr 2016 Brilliant straw. A powerful, expansive bouquet evokes mineral-accented Meyer lemon, pear, iodine and jasmine. Sappy citrus and orchard fruit flavors stain the palate and display a suave blend of richness and vivacity, with no undue weight. Juicy, taut and strikingly concentrated, displaying the tension of a Grand Cru Chablis. Finishes minerally, floral and extremely long, conveying a repeating floral quality. This should turn out to be a stunning wine, by any measure, and as white Châteauneuf goes, it'll be monumental.
93/100 Punkte Robert Paker August 31, 2018 A blend of 60% Clairette, 20% Grenache Blanc and 10% each Bourboulenc and Roussanne, the 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc Cuvee Reservee is the best example of this cuvée I can recall. It's medium to full-bodied, with a lush, creamy mouthfeel and ripe flavors of melon and citrus balanced by hints of anise and lime zest. It finishes with freshness, vibrancy and brightness. I've been deliberately conservative with the aging estimate, as I like wines like this young, but it's capable of aging for a decade or more.
93/100 Punkte Vinous, October 2018 Pale green-tinged yellow. Heady, mineral-laced pear and melon aromas show outstanding clarity and a sexy floral nuance. Sappy and sharply focused on the palate, offering vibrant orchard fruit and honeydew flavors that are braced and lifted by a bitter citrus pith element. The floral note comes back strong on the finish, which lingers with outstanding, mineral-driven tenacity.
97/100 Punkte Robert Parker August 31, 2018 One of the best white Châteauneufs I've tasted#outdoing its fine performance last year prior to bottling#the 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc Cuvee A Tempo is equal parts Clairette, Grenache Blanc and Roussanne, vinified and aged in a combination of barrique, concrete egg and stainless steel. Full-bodied, rich and lush, it shows honeyed bergamot and pineapple fruit balanced by clean citrus and anise notes. Bravo!
96/100 Punkte Vinous October 2018 Transparent yellow-gold. An impressively complex, mineral-accented bouquet displays aromas of ripe citrus and orchard fruits, nori, buttered toast and jasmine, and a hint of anise sneaks in as the wine opens up. At once deep and lithe on the palate, offering vibrant Meyer lemon, pear, gingerbread and fennel flavors braced by a spine of juicy acidity. Displays superb tension and thrust on a mineral- and floral-driven finish that refuses to let up. I'd have absolutely no problem lining up this remarkable wine alongside a group of high-end Grand Cru white Burgundies from that region's biggest names.
90/100 Punkte Vinous September 2017 Bright straw. Lemon and green papaya on the perfumed nose. Then fresh and saline, with lemony bite to the fresh orchard fruit flavors. Finishes long and juicy. Made with Nerello Mascalese vinified as a white wine (in other words, without any skin contact). (12.5% alcohol).
88/100 Punkte Robert Parker Dec 30, 2016 The 2014 Dorando is a 100% Malcantone Chardonnay fermented in concrete eggs and wooden vats. The citrus-colored wine opens with a clear, fresh and pretty intense bouquet of ripe white fruit, melon, lime and kumquat flavors. Medium-bodied, round and fresh on the palate this is an elegant, well-structured and nicely salty food wine, with an excellent phenolic grip and tension. Ginger flavors in the good aftertaste. The 2014 is still young, but perfect with all kinds of fish and white meats.
