92/100 Punkte Robert Parker, March 2020 From the upper and stonier third of the cru and picked a week later than the Federspiel, the 2018 Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Ried Mühlpoint is deep and flinty on the clear and coolish, very elegant nose. Rich and intense on the fleshy but also crystalline and piquant palate, this is a full-bodied and elegant Smaragd with stimulatingly fine and salty acidity. Long, fresh, structured and very promising. Tasted at the domain in September 2019.
93/100 Punkte Robert Parker, March 2020 From the central, loess-dominated part of the famous cru, Alzinger's 2018 Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Ried Loibenberg opens with a very delicate and elegant bouquet of ripe fruits intermixed with a very fine and crystalline flint stone note. Ripe, intense and juicy on the palate, this is a more charming, lush and accessible Veltliner compared to the Liebenberg, but the finish has the same vitality, mineral freshness and tension. The Loibenberg GV is just warmer and more charming in its remarkably elegant character. Tasted at the domain in September 2019.
92/100 Punkte Robert Parker, March 2020 From one of the coolest plots of the cru ("Rauheneck") that is already shadowed in the afternoon, the 2018 Riesling Smaragd Ried Loibenberg is beautifully clear and fine on the nose, with very elegant and ripe Riesling aromas intermixed with the coolish and flinty aromas reminiscent of the Steinertal. Concentrated, lush, piquant and elegant on the palate, this is a promising, very elegant and fleshy Riesling with a stimulating salty finish. Tasted at the domain in September 2019.
94/100 Punkte Robert Parker, March 2020 The 2018 Riesling Smaragd Ried Steinertal is clear, coolish and flinty on the remarkable mineral, herbal and concentrated nose. Crystalline, refined and elegant on the palate, this is a great 2018 Riesling classic from the Wachau. The palate is lush and perfectly ripe but very elegant, fine and sustainable in its crystalline and crunchy structure and its salivating salinity. A fascinating wine. Tasted at the domain in September 2019.
94/100 Punkte Robert Parker, March 2020 From the parcels below the Riesling, grown on weathered bedrock (iron-rich gneiss) and benefiting from descending air currents of the creek, the 2018 Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Ried Steinertal offers a coolish, fascinating, precise and flinty bouquet of white fruits. Lush and intense on the palate, this is a very intense and mineral but also sensual Veltliner that pleases hedonists as well as intellectuals. The wine has vivacious acidity, remarkable finesse and a long and sustainable finish with a lot of salt and tension. One of the finest Veltliners that has been produced in Lower Austria in 2018.
92/100 Punkte Robert Parker, March 2020 The 2018 Steiner Riesling Ried Pfaffenberg Selection is pure, fresh and herbal on the pure and flinty nose. On the palate, this is a round, rich and quite powerful Riesling with remarkable intensity, grip and mineral tension. The finish is long and complex and promises good aging potential. Tasted at the domain in September 2019.
94/100 Punkte Robert Parker, March 2020 The 2018 Ried Kellerberg Grüner Veltliner Smaragd is coolish, fresh and deep on the flinty and stony as well herbal nose with its tobacco flavors. Complex as always. Full-bodied, rich and elegant on the palate, this is a structured, spicy-piquant, tannic and very mineral Veltliner with a long and complex, tightly woven and unique finish. This is a great, slowly developing Veltliner with remarkable elegance, finesse and mineral freshness. Quite powerful on the aftertaste. Bottled in August 2019 and tasted at the domain in September.
