87+/100 Punkte Robert Parker, Jan 31, 2017 Coming from a south-facing, 60-are vineyard on deep marl soils situated at 420 meters above sea level, the 2015 Pinot Blanc opens with ripe tropical fruit aromas intermixed with new oak and stirred yeast flavors. Fermented in stainless steel and oak vats, but aged in new and used barriques until the bottling in May, this is a full-bodied, round and very aromatic Pinot Blanc; it has a smooth acidity and an elegant texture. The 2015 is still made-up and lacks the purity and finessed freshness of a great wine, but the round and smooth-textured mouthfeel will be really pleasant for many consumers. The finish reveals a good grip and salinity, so the wine may improve with bottle age.
90/100 Punkte Robert Parker, Oct 31, 2018 The 2016 Tre is 80% Sangiovese with 10% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The combination of those three grapes makes for a well-priced entry-level Tuscan red that would pair nicely with pasta or spicy sausage pizza. This is a soft and simple mid-weight wine with a bright bouquet that is colored with vibrant tones of dark fruit, spice and grilled herb. The quality of the fruit in this classic vintage is what pushes this value wine up to an exciting 90-point threshold.
88/100 Punkte Robert Parker Dec 30, 2016 The 2014 Dorando is a 100% Malcantone Chardonnay fermented in concrete eggs and wooden vats. The citrus-colored wine opens with a clear, fresh and pretty intense bouquet of ripe white fruit, melon, lime and kumquat flavors. Medium-bodied, round and fresh on the palate this is an elegant, well-structured and nicely salty food wine, with an excellent phenolic grip and tension. Ginger flavors in the good aftertaste. The 2014 is still young, but perfect with all kinds of fish and white meats.
88/100 Punkte Vinous, Jun 2016 Bright ruby-red. Cedar, black currant and minerals on the fresh, clean nose. Bright and juicy; harmonious acidity nicely extends the dark fruit flavors. Finishes smooth, showing a bright, easygoing quality. A blend of Sangiovese (34%), Cabernet Sauvignon (33%), Merlot (33%).
92/100 Punkte James Suckling, December 2016 A deep and beautiful nose of ripe strawberries and hints of dried flowers and soft spices. Medium-bodied with medium, juicy and soft tannins and a long, fresh and fruity finish. Drink now.
89/100 Punkte Vinous May 2019 Bright medium-deep pink. Clean and fresh aromas and flavors of strawberry, plum, violet and herbs. Offers a tactile quality and much less sweetness than before, so tastes clean, fresh and floral but still ripe. Closes long and precise. A blend of Nero d#Avola, Syrah, and Pinot Noir.
89/100 Punkte Wine Spectator Apr 30, 2016 Leather, smoke and black olive notes are layered with boysenberry coulis and cocoa powder flavors in this elegant red. Medium-bodied and silky in texture, with fine-grained tannins showing on the minerally finish. Gaglioppo, Magliocco Canino and others. Drink now through 2021.
91/100 Punkte James Suckling, July 2017 This village wine (Hargardun is the old name for the village of Hallgarten) is brimming with lemon and ripe apple flavors, the palate at once juicy and racy. The finish is very fresh and seriously mineral. Drink through 2022.
89/100 Punkte Robert Parker, June 2016 Hannes Schuster's 2013 Sankt Laurent is a picture-book wine of this capricious grape variety. Cherry-red in color, it is reductive on the leathery/spicy, herbal, fresh and pure nose of cherry and red berry flavors (raspberries), along with hints of ginger and crushed pepper. Silky textured and elegant, this medium-bodied 12% alcohol red reveals a remarkable Pinot-character, a great finesse and perfect ripe fruit which gives a long and aromatic finish carried by finest tannins and a beautiful acidity. This is not a complex, but a refined Pinot character of great authenticity. I admit: I love it! (I tasted this beauty from several glasses, but the Zalto Bordeaux glass turned out to be perfect for me.)
