93/100 Punkte Wine Spectator, November 30, 2017 This generous red delivers rich flavors of blackberry, currant, toast and mineral, which are harmonious over the well-integrated tannins, showing firm acidity for balance and a long finish of spice and smoke. Not showy, but deep and alluring. Drink now through 2030.
92/100 Punkte Robert Parker, Apr 2012 The 2010 Trossos Tros Blanc is a pure Garnacha Blanca from 90-year-old, biodynamically farmed vines and is aged in 50% French oak. It has a creamy, almond and nougat-scented bouquet that stylishly combines the aromatic qualities of the grape variety with the new oak. The palate is harmonious, smooth and creamy, with pure scents of white chocolate, fresh apricot and quince leading to a delineated, precise, elegant finish. Excellent. Drink now-2016+.
92/100 Punkte Stephen Tanzer, Sep 2012 (100% garnatxa blanca, aged for ten months in large French oak casks): Light yellow-gold. Pungent, highly perfumed aromas of candied peach, poached pear, honey and vanilla, with a floral overtone and a hint of ginger. Fleshy and expansive on the palate, offering gently sweet orchard fruit flavors and a bracing lemon pith quality. Finishes smooth, sappy and long, with lingering spiciness.
92/100 Punkte Parker May 2011 The 2008 Trossos Tros Blanc displays a similar aromatic and flavor profile but with slightly less concentration and length than the 2009. It will pair very well with rich fish and white meat courses.
92-94/100 Punkte Robert Parker May 2011 Portal del Priorat makes an outstanding white wine called Trossos Tros Blanc. The 2009 Trossos Tros Blanc was tasted from a tank sample but will be in bottle by the time of publication. It displays notions of buttered popcorn, vanilla, melon, pineapple, and other tropical aromas. This nicely proportioned effort displays a firm acid structure in the glass, layers of flavor, and exceptional length.
95/100 Punkte Falstaff Weinguide 2016/17 Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung.
96/100 Punkte Falstaff Dezember 2019 Leuchtendes Goldgelb, Silberreflexe, lebendiges feines Mousseux.
93/100 Punkte Robert Parker August 31, 2018 Sourced from five plots in the village, the Chardonnay for the 2006 Le Mesnil sur Oger Grand Cru Coeur de Terroir was entirely vinified in small oak barrels. It was kept on the lees until the bottling in April 2007 and disgorged in July 2017 as Extra Brut (with a dosage of four to five grams per liter). This wine offers a very deep, perfectly ripe, pure, fresh and elegant bouquet of great complexity, featuring ripe fruit aromas that are intertwined with iodine and concentrated citrus notes. Almost steely in the background but overall generous, the 2006 is highly elegant and complex, with a lovely oxidative touch and good structure. Pure, fresh and finessed on the palate, this is a very elegant and balanced yet tensioned grand cru with a long, aromatic, perfectly round and accessible finish. This can be cellared for at least 10 to 15 years if you like matured Champagne. There is a lot of life and vitality in this cuvée. Great finish#fresh
94/100 Punkte Falstaff Rotweinguide 2017 Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung.
95/100 Punkte Robert Parker Nov 2017 Loimer's dry Riesling 2016 Ried Steinmassl "Erste Lage" offers a deep, mineral and complex bouquet of ripe peaches. Full-bodied, round and intense on the palate, this is a dense, highly elegant, complex, finessed and stimulating Riesling with firm but fine tannin structure and a piercing mineral character. The 2016 is probably the finest Riesling I have tasted from this vineyard and this domain so far. If you have the chance, keep it for 10 years before you appreciate all its talents! It's Riesling, not always easy in its youth, but the best is yet to come! Tasted in September 2017.
97/100 Punkte James Suckling, October 2018 Very pristine and youthful with a stunning combination of concentration and grace on the palate. This is one of the highlights of the vintage for Austria's signature grape. Very long, cool finish with a slew of herbs and minerals. From biodynamically grown grapes. Respekt certified. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
94/100 Punkte Robert Parker April 2016 Selected in the best plot of the Zieregg and only in great vintages, the 2012 Sauvignon Blanc Zieregg Vinothek Reserve displays a very clear and pure bouquet with lemon flavors. This fascinating nose seems to be delivered on a perfumed stone plate. Pure perfume, no eau de toilette, of course. The palate is the extension of the nose, although the finish reveals a sweetish and charming juiciness that takes away a bit of the purity - which I like too much, but many readers might find too intellectual or not sensual enough. Ripe and cooked/baked white fruits (apples) intertwine with mineral flavors on the highly elegant palate, which finishes with verve, salt, and ripe and concentrated fruit flavors. This is doubtlessly great wine and there is no Sauvignon I know on planet wine that is comparable to this Zieregg. And that's a probably the greatest compliment I can give to this extraordinary wine.
93/100 Punkte Robert Parker August 2018 The exceptional NV Adorado is a product of the past, as it's a wine that is said not to have been touched since 1967. It's a blend of the three classical grapes from Rueda#Verdejo, Palomino and Viura. There is more volatility, more intensity and pungency here, but also more finesse and depth and even more elegance. It matured in a solera system for a very long time, and initially, it must have been aged under flor yeasts. It's 16% alcohol but was originally fortified to 17%, and it's very dry and tasty. There are some 2,000 bottles of this, apparently only magnums. Wines like this are almost eternal.
93/100 Punkte James Suckling July 2019 A solera that delivers such complex and richly nutty, leathery aromas leading to a dry, minerally palate that has a very rich, layered and crisp, salty build to the finish. Drink now.
89+/100 Punkte Robert Parker September 2017 The 2015 Oberflachs Auf der Mauer has a deep, pure, fine, licorice and dark cherry bouquet with oaky/toasty aromas. On the palate this is a charming, rich, pretty juicy and intense but rather broad and saturating Pinot Noir from a very steep, terraced, warm and dry vineyard. This is pretty rich and powerful but a less exciting Pinot Noir compared to the Rüeget.
97/100 Punkte James Suckling, October 2018 A cornucopia of exotic-fruit aromas from papaya to durian, then stunning richness and concentration on the palate. This remarkable grüner veltliner is seriously powerful yet fresh and lively with a very bright and delicate finish. Drink or hold.
97+/100 Punkte Robert Parker, August 2019 The 2017 Nit de Nin Mas d#en Caçador is a vintage they talk about like this: "We will remember this vintage as one of the most extreme of the decade, along with that of 2012. It is in years like these that the work we do in the field is rewarded. In spite of the climatic exceptionality, we have acidity and pH that seem like a miracle to us. Our vines did not suffer the severe frosts of this 2017." The wine has lower alcohol than the 2016 but the same pH of 3.3; insultingly young and tender, it doesn't feel like the wine had a long élevage in oak. It has kept very good freshness and great balance. It's tasty, pungent and long, with power and elegance and all the components to develop nicely in bottle.
93-94/100 Punkte Robert Parker August 2017 The 2016 Kamptal Riesling Heiligenstein 1ÖTW is super pure, fresh, precise and mineral on the nose, offering flinty flavors of crushed stones and lemon juice. On the palate, this Heiligenstein is enormously finessed, racy-vital and elegant. It shows a certain lightness without losing complexity, intensity or length. The wine is firmly structured, but all seems filigreed and mineral here, with no charming sweetness, no creaminess, no compromises. It is a pure Heiligenstein, and the finish is salty, piquant and very compact. A highly promising dry Riesling and an impressive Heiligenstein. Tasted as a sample in late June 2017.
