89+/100 Punkte Robert Parker September 2017 The 2015 Oberflachs Auf der Mauer has a deep, pure, fine, licorice and dark cherry bouquet with oaky/toasty aromas. On the palate this is a charming, rich, pretty juicy and intense but rather broad and saturating Pinot Noir from a very steep, terraced, warm and dry vineyard. This is pretty rich and powerful but a less exciting Pinot Noir compared to the Rüeget.
93/100 Punkte Robert Parker, 29th Sep 2017 The 2015 Thalheim Chalofe has a deep, pure, fresh and coolish bouquet of ripe cherry. On the palate this is a full-bodied, rich and persistent but also pure Pinot Noir with power, intensity and endless juiciness. It is well balanced and provided with remarkable finesse, salinity and tension. This is a gorgeous Pinot Noir from the Aargau. Tasted in Zurich, August 2017.
91-92/100 Punkte Robert Parker, Feb 2019 From 50-year-old Swiss vines and younger Burgundy clones, the 2017 Malanser Pinot Noir Selvenen is clear, pure, fresh and spicy on the nose, with red fruit and slatey aromas. Lush and intense but pure and fresh on the palate, this is a lean and crystalline Pinot with density and an intense length. Very promising. Tasted from barrel in November 2018.
93+/100 Punkte Robert Parker, Feb 2019 What a beauty! Fromm's 2016 Malanser Pinot Noir Selvenen, from 50-year-old Swiss vines and younger Burgundy clones, offers a deep, fine and elegant, though currently discreet, nose of meat, cacao, nougat and cherry confiture intermixed with some smoky and flinty notes. Full-bodied, lush and intense on the round and elegant, silky-textured palate, this is a full-bodied, concentrated and tightly woven Pinot with serious ambitions and very good aging potential. The finish is generous and powerful, very intense and ripe as well as long. The 2016 is far from being ready to drink, though. Very promising in any case. Tasted in February 2019.
91+/100 Punkte Robert Parker Sept 2017 Stäger's 2015 Pinot Noir Barrique from Maienfeld has a dark ruby color and offers a pure, deep, fresh, spicy/flinty and elegant bouquet of ripe dark fruits. Full-bodied, vital and fresh on the palate, with a tiny bit of CO2 and a tight, vital structure as well as lingering minerals and fine tannins, this is a stunningly good wine with a long, complex finish. Still terribly young but vibrant and tight, this 2015 has great aging potential of at least 15 years. Ex-cellar price: 30 CHF. Tasted in Zurich, August 2017.
91/100 Punkte Robert Parker, 29th Sep 2017 The 2014 Malanser Blauburgunder Reserva has a dark purple color and opens with a very toasty but also floral, slatey bouquet of perfectly ripe cherry and dark berry aromas. Full-bodied, ripe and sweet on the silky palate, this is an intense and stunningly powerful Pinot Noir for that difficult vintage. Its fruit is quite developed, but the wine is still very firm and provided with lots of mealy tannins that are still a bit dry on the finish. This is an excellent long-distance runner that should be cellared for another 7-8 years.
Finessenreicher, eleganter Pinot.
92/100 Punkte Robert Parker, Sep 2017 The 2015 Elfingen Rüeget opens with an intense, gorgeously spicy, pure, chalky and cherry-scented bouquet with red fruit and white peach aromas#terrific! On the palate this is a full-bodied, round but dry and spicy Pinot Noir with an enormously juicy and concentrated palate. Powerful, firm and fresh, with great tension and purity but also concentration#this is one of my favorite Swiss Pinot Noirs.
91/100 Punkte Robert Parker, Feb 2019 From a 0.28-hectare plot with 37-year-old vines (Swiss clones) and aged in barriques for 12 months, the 2016 Malanser Pinot Noir Fidler is coolish and slightly flinty on the deep, pure and elegant nose with its ripe and aromatic cherry aromas and just a hint of oak. Lush and round on the palate, with silky tannins and charmingly ripe fruit, this is an intense, well-concentrated and structured, beautifully balanced Swiss Blauburgunder in an international style with grip and density. Very elegant and fruity and almost ready to drink. The aftertaste is wonderfully pure, fresh and dry as well as spicy due to its concentration and then folic grip. Tasted February 2019.
91-92/100 Punkte Robert Parker Feb. 2019 The 2017 Malanser Pinot Noir Fidler is dark, deep and spicy on the ripe and concentrated (cherry) nose. The palate is tight and fresh, very well concentrated and fleshy, with a good grip and chocolate flavors. Quite powerful. Tasted as a sample in November 2018.
91-92/100 Punkte Robert Parker, Feb 2019 The 2017 Malanser Pinot Noir Spielmann is still reductive but fine and elegant on the spicy and refined nose. It is lush and intense on the palate, with toasty flavors and tannins that are still somewhat drying. This is a firm, straight and pretty taut Pinot with good intensity and length. It is sourced from old 13-year-old vines. Tasted November 2018.
