93/100 Punkte Robert Parker, June 2017 The 2013 El Terroir was cropped from a cold, rainy and late harvest, as it happened in most of Spain. This is usually a blend of Garnacha from old vines on slightly deeper limestone soils and with an earthy, telluric character. They work with 27 different vineyards all in the village of San Martín de Unx, and they select blind the character of the different micro-vinifications (some 19 of them), and here they use the earthier lots. However, in this slightly lighter vintage, El Terroir shows extremely elegant and this has resulted in a superb vintage of this cuvée, which is always a little more generous and might work better in more austere vintages; having said that, I loved the 2012, which had a more Châteauneuf-du-Pape profile. This 2013 is simply superb and vibrant, with intense limestone minerality. I see very nicely integrated oak in all the wines and in general better transparency and delineation. This has all the ingredients to age nic
90/100 Punkte Robert Parker April 2018 The balsamic and fruit-driven 2016 Gotes Blanques is an unoaked Garnacha Blanca from the village of La Morera de Montsant at 650 meters in altitude. It fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and was partly aged in cement vats. It's very fresh and delineated, with very good acidity and focused, pungent flavors and a mineral finish.
93/100 Punkte Wine Spectator, November 30, 2017 This generous red delivers rich flavors of blackberry, currant, toast and mineral, which are harmonious over the well-integrated tannins, showing firm acidity for balance and a long finish of spice and smoke. Not showy, but deep and alluring. Drink now through 2030.
93/100 Punkte James Suckling August 2018 Plenty of spicy saffron and clove aromas hover over ripe red plums and mulberries. The palate has nice fruit-focus and depth with good tannin-weight and detail. Drink or hold.
90/100 Punkte Feb 2018 The 2016 Blanco de Sierra de Toloño was produced from individual white vines from old vineyards where they are intermixed with the reds in the Rivas de Tereso village. Sandra Bravo likes clean and fresh whites, pure and direct, kept with the lees until March. It's young and fresh indeed, with even a saline/mineral touch from the limestone-rich soils that invites you to drink. 2016 was a complete and very balanced year that worked well for both colors.
93/100 Punkte James Suckling July 2017 Nicely styled reductive interest ahead of dried lemon and grapefruit notes, cut straw and dried yellow flowers. The palate has a smoothly rendered texture with impressive layered lemon and almond flavors. Holds long. Drink now.
93/100 Punkte James Suckling August 2018 Straightforward dried lemon and melon with some tropical nuances. The palate has a concentrated thread of flavor and finishes crisp, fresh and light. Drink now.
92/100 Punkte James Suckling August 2018 Rich and concentrated, dark summer berries. This is quite pure and fruit-driven. The palate has impressive depth and fleshy allure. Supple and even-paced, this is a very fresh, juicy and attractive wine. Drink or hold.
92+/100 Punkte Robert Parker Feb 2018 The red 2015 Rivas de Tereso will be the last vintage with that name (the name of the village where the majority of vineyards are located). It will be called Camino de Santa Cruz from the 2016 vintage onward. This was the first vineyard-designated wine, from very shallow soils at high altitude. It fermented in amphorae to preserve freshness and then aged in 500-liter oak barrels for one year. There is good ripeness of fruit with an earthy and mineral touch plus aromas of herbs and wild flowers, a medium-bodied palate with dusty, chalky tannins and a very tasty finish.
93/100 Punkte James Suckling July 2017 Assertive and convincing style with black fruit aromas and flavors in a very slick, layered and flavoursome palate. Very impressive balance and depth. Long, smooth tannins with peppery edges. Powerful and delicious. Best from 2020.
93/100 Punkte Parker Feb 2014 The 2011 Trossos Tros Negre is pure Garnacha from a single 85-year-old vineyard on chalky soils worked biodinamically. The wine is powerful and concentrated but has very good balance, with very good red fruit over a layer of cinnamon, vanilla and other sweet spices that should integrate with a little bit of time in bottle. The palate is medium-bodied, elegant and powerful, quite balanced and with good persistence, length and acidity. A powerful, tasty Garnacha. Drink 2014-2018.
