    Falstaff 93/100

    93/100 Punkte Falstaff, Februar 2017

A bright and transparent garnet-ruby color dresses the 2014 Thalheim Chalofe Pinot Noir, which is selected from 20- to 45-year-old vines on marl soils. Aged in barriques for 12 months and another six months in stainless steel, the wine opens with a very clear, pure, fresh and reductive bouquet that reminds me of a white Burgundy-though the fruit flavors have a rather red-skinned origin. Silky textured, very pure and fresh, this is a very delicate and finessed Pinot with a silky texture and a filigreed structure. The finish, however, shows tension, firm yet highly fine tannins, as well as the salty purity and refreshing elegance of a Chablis or even Riesling. An amazing wine!

The 2015 Thalheim Chalofe has a deep, pure, fresh and coolish bouquet of ripe cherry. On the palate this is a full-bodied, rich and persistent but also pure Pinot Noir with power, intensity and endless juiciness. It is well balanced and provided with remarkable finesse, salinity and tension. This is a gorgeous Pinot Noir from the Aargau. Tasted in Zurich, August 2017.

    92/100 Punkte Robert Parker Dec 30, 2016
100% Chardonnay from Beride that was fermented in Burgundian pièces, the 2014 Pianelle opens with a ripe and elegant bouquet of pineapples, melons, pears and lemon aromas intermixed with mineral or stony flavors. Round, fresh and juicy, with a finely racy acidity on the very elegant and well-balanced palate, this 2014 develops a stunning finesse and aromatic intensity. It also has a promising grip and vitality. It is firmly structured, pretty complex and persistent in the finish. The Pianelle is rounder and has more fruit and charm than the Dosso, which is even more pure and complex.

    Falstaff 90/100

    90/100 Punkte Falstaff Juli 2018
Bleibt recht lange.

The 2014 Conte di Luna comes from the Ticino but with Cabernet Sauvignon added to the obligatory Merlot, and is thus classified as IGT instead of DOC. It is a purple-colored red with a pure, fresh and spicy/vegetal bouquet of black currant, cherries, paprika, earthy and ivy flavors on the nose. The fruit seems rather just ripe and does not give the generous and warm black fruit character of a more regular Ticino vintage. However, the precision, purity, freshness and authentic character is still fascinating here. It underwent 16 months of barrel ageing. The silky textured blend is very elegant and fresh on the palate, well concentrated and provided with firm and characterful, really severe tannins; it has a good and spicy finish of dark cherries and black berries. The alcohol of 13% is rather moderate and very gastronomic. This is a delicious, food-friendly blend that needs a lot of aeration and should be perfect to drink between 2018 and 2
