90/100 Punkte Falstaff Kremstal Cup 2018 Helles Gelbgrün, Silberreflexe.
90/100 Punkte Robert Parker August 31, 2017 Ott's 2016 Grüner Veltliner Fass 4 displays a deep, clear and pretty intense white fruit aroma intertwined with a noble spicy-mineral, quite stony flavor. Medium to full-bodied, intensely fruity but also mineral and provided with crystalline acidity, this is a remarkably delicate and filigreed Grüner Veltliner. Ending with a clear, piquant and salty finish, it is a first-class wine to pair with many dishes, mainly veggies, fish and white meat. Tasted at Schloss Gobelsburg in July 2017.
92/100 Punkte Vinous October 2018 Lentil, snap pea, green herbs and fresh lime on the nose set the parameters for a silken-textured yet stimulatingly crunchy mid-palate performance that combines nutty, earthy richness with cooling herbal essences, fresh legumes, and brightly juicy, Riesling-like citrus. Suggestions of sweet red pepper, raw almond, piquant citrus pip and marine minerality add to an appeal that culminates with (again Riesling-like) crystalline stony impingements and a mouthwatering compulsion to take the next sip. At 12.2%, this weighs-in with considerably higher alcohol than that of the corresponding #Am Berg,# but still little enough that it conveys a delightful sense of lift to accompany its irresistibility.
93/100 Punkte Vinous, December 2018 Subtle scents and crunchy, juicy palate presence of wax bean and cucumber garlanded in meadow grasses and flowers all call to mind the corresponding Steinfeder. But here there is not just more body but also the earthy, nutty presence of lentil, along with tactile suggestions of crystalline crushed stone. At exactly 12.5% alcohol, this is not especially light by the standards of its genre, but there is more than enough sense of lift to complement the animating, juicy brightness conveyed on a vibrantly lingering finish transparent to green herbal as well as stony nuances.
90/100 Punkte Robert Parker December 2018 The intensely straw-yellow colored 2017 Ried Superin Grüner Veltliner Federspiel is ripe and elegant on the intense but fine nose. Bottled in June 2018, this Federspiel is very elegant and fresh on the palate, where just one gram of residual sugar gives a clear and stimulating character. The grapes for the Superin were harvested during the second half of September, so quite early, which gives the 2017 its stimulating character. Tasted in Dürnstein/Wachau, September 2018.
91/100 Punkte Robert Parker December 2018 The 2017 Spitz Grüner Veltliner Federspiel Rotes Tor is clear, fresh and bright on the nose. Slightly buttery on the palate, this is a rich and powerful yet piquant and salty Veltliner with lush fruit and a long finish. Tasted in Spitz, September 2018.
92/100 Punkte Falstaff Weinguide 2016/17 Helles Gelb, Silberreflexe.
90/100 Punkte James Suckling, October 2018 Lots of fresh-herb and pepper aromas make this sleek and vibrant grüner veltliner very attractive. A touch of caramel in the finish. From biodynamically grown grapes. Respekt certified. Drink now. Screw cap.
93/100 Punkte Parker Apr 2016 Beautifully clear, intense and elegant on the nose, the 2014 Grüner Veltliner Lamm 1ÖTW from the southeastern footslope of the Heiligenstein displays a lovely mix of herbs, domestic fruits and earthy flavors. Straight, fresh and mineral on the palate, this is a medium-weighted but very intense and firmly structured Veltliner with loads of salt and stones. Very dense, intense and long, this is an expressive wine and probably one of the finest Veltliners that have been produced along the Danube in 2014. For advanced wine lovers only.
92/100 Punkte Robert Parker April 2014 Hirsch's 2012 Gruner Veltliner Lamm is fascinatingly Chablis-like in its aromatics and savor, projecting salted, herbed chicken and mushroom stock mingled with salivary gland-milking oyster liquor. Full, expansive and palpably extract rich, this finishes with impressive grip if also with a bit of extraneous bitterness not anticipated from the nose or the initial palate impression. Expect this to pique appetites and attention at table through at least 2022, and quite possibly to reveal yet greater profundity.
92/100 Punkte Robert Parker August 31, 2017 The 2015 Kamptal Grüner Veltliner Lamm 1ÖTW offers a clear, pure and flinty nose with white fruit and fresh herbal aromas along with lemon grass flavors. Very complex! Full-bodied, round and very elegant on the palate, this is a powerful, very complex and salty Grüner that reveals nice mineral vitality and remarkable finesse toward the finish. It is silky textured, richer than the Gaisberg and needs corresponding dishes. The tannins are fine and well intertwined with the mineral grip and salinity. It is one of the best Veltliners I have tasted from the Kamptal from the 2015 vintage.
